A group of alleged supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday, January 11, 2025, stormed the Bui Power Authority (BPA) premises, demanding the immediate exit of all employees.
The group, visibly agitated in a viral video, claimed that with their party now in power, it was time for a complete overhaul of the Authority’s personnel.
The group emphasised that their demands were straightforward: improved management and fair opportunities for everyone.
They expressed frustration over the lack of progress and development in the country over the past eight years and insisted that a change in leadership at the BPA was necessary for the nation’s growth.
“We are here to tell anybody that has been employed from management to security or whoever it is, we are telling them that now our government is in power,” declared the spokesperson of the group.
“We know that we’ve got a new Energy Minister. We are saying that all those people must pack their baggage and leave because, for the past eight years, we’ve seen nothing.
“If anything, we should have seen our country growing. Our country getting better…We are fed up. So all of them should pack their things and leave…We are fed up. Not even John Mahama will stop us because the country belongs to all of us,” the spokesperson added.
